'He could have just told me at 9:30': Boss waits to fire employee until after he gets another project done, employee lashes out

Talk about a complete waste of a day! This employee had nearly completed all of his daily work tasks when his boss up and fired him in the afternoon. His boss even revealed that he had known since 9:30 am that morning and couldn't bring himself to do it. Now, there are a couple of explanations behind the boss's behavior. Firstly, he could be more conniving than he comes across. Perhaps he wanted the employee to finish whatever project he was working on before firing him so he could be rid of him while also collecting his work. The second explanation is that he is just a good old-fashioned coward.

When the employee shared their side of the story via this Reddit thread, some folks in the comments began to question OP's behavior and the reasons why he was fired in the first place. Based on his reactions, many other Redditors surmised that despite being very productive, he could very well have been unnecessarily difficult and abrasive in the office. He admitted to rarely talking with other coworkers, but the tone behind his comments says more than him merely having a shy personality. Regardless, if he needed to go, his boss should have told him first thing. It's not worth it to waste anyone's time because of cowardice.
